The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Student Chapter is a dynamic and collaborative community for aspiring choral directors and enthusiasts within academic institutions. Inklings Arts and Letters is a magazine of visual art and creative writing by and for Miami University students. We publish work that pushes formal boundaries and reflects the diversity of perspectives in this campus’ vibrant creative community. We accept photography, painting, sculpture, collage, digital art, poetry, short stories, creative nonfiction, multimedia works, and every amalgam in between.

Students of any major can submit their work during our fall or spring submission periods. If you are interested in joining our staff, please fill out this form. Our staff meets weekly to review anonymous submissions and evaluate their form and content strengths.

A cherished handful of Inklings’ favorite things: zines, the experimental, teeth, the moon. We’ve also had a hankering for both collage and collaborative art events recently, which we don’t see fading any time soon.

Every semester, we host a full-moon reading and an issue release party at Kofenya (another old Inklings favorite!). Inklings not only offers experience in collaborating on a large-scale publishing project but brings together an eclectic community of strange and wonderful creatives. Whether a staff member, a contributor, or an attendee, Inklings is delighted to bump elbows with you!

Just Duet is Miami’s only all-gender a cappella group. Since our founding in 2013, JD has become the first at Miami to compete in the Semifinal round ICCAs, performed at Carnegie Hall, and continuously records, produces, and performs throughout the year.

We rehearse 3 times a week: Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30-9:30pm and Sundays 2-4pm, in Sesquicentennial Chapel basement. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to us at justduet@miamioh.edu!

MUCC's mission is to build an engaging and inclusive community of artists at Miami University, through ceramic-related activities. *Due to facility and university restrictions, MUCC is not an organization that can use the ceramics studio facilities such as kilns, wheels, and clay. Miami only allows students currently enrolled in a ceramics course to use studio materials, and our club includes people beyond that scope. HOWEVER, we do host ceramics related events, like pottery sales, info sessions, and artist talks. We encourage anyone who has interests in ceramics to join! Our community of ceramic artists here at Miami has a lot to offer.

* The Empty Bowls event is an exception because it is a collaboration with a larger charitable event.

Miami University Fashion & Design (MUF&D), Miami University’s largest student organization with over 900+ members. We provide members with real-world experience and professional and creative development opportunities through our seven committees and 40+ annual events. MUF&D is most known for our annual fashion show that is completely student-run and draws in an audience of over 1,700.

Members can participate as general members, designers, models, assistants, or executive members on any or all of the seven committees: PR/Marketing, Event Planning, Modeling, Design, Graphic Design, Photography, or Business Development/Finance.

Members get exclusive access to MUF&D's expansive professional network, including brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, Victoria's Secret, Express, and many more. The Miami University Symphony Orchestra (MUSO) strives to engage with audiences by performing an expanding repertoire that pushes the boundaries of the symphonic experience. Orchestra members are passionate about learning, performing, and contributing to the future of music as an art form.

The Miami University Symphony Orchestra (MUSO), with a history dating back to 1890, is dedicated to the quality performance of the orchestral repertoire and to the professional and artistic growth of its members. We foster an environment of creativity and collaboration, and all are welcome to attend our concerts. In a typical year, over 60 Miami students perform in the ensemble.
The ensemble has an extensive performance schedule on and off campus, annually presenting four concerts of standard orchestral repertoire, and other events such as concerto accompaniments and choral/orchestral collaborations. The MUSO Board hosts wellness and social events for members throughout the semester.

Miami University's National Art Education Association Student Chapter is dedicated to promoting professional development amongst its future art educators. In doing so, its members participate in various service learning activities, arts centered events. We hold studio and career workshops, lesson plan exchanges, go on arts-related field trips, and offer exhibition opportunities for art education majors.

The Miami University Student Chapter of the National Art Education Association is open to membership by all students who are interested in art education, even if they don't intend to become art teachers. We meet every other week on a day and time which is voted on per semester. 

Whether or not students join the Student Chapter, they are strongly urged to join both the National Art Education Association and the Ohio Art Education Association. Students also are encouraged to attend the annual OAEA & NAEA conferences to further advance their professional development.

The unconventional structure of the organization allows for a greater sense of collaboration and creative equality, from brainstorming to print. Pixel Magazine inspires the student body of Miami University to break out of the mold and feel comfortable expressing their creative talents without the restraints of the status quo.

Members will have the opportunity to attend weekly meetings, where they will work together to create the magazine issue for the semester. If there are scheduling conflicts, members will still have an opportunity to submit their work. At the end of the semester, the magazine will be printed and distributed to the Miami community.

Encouraging creativity in those whose voices may have traditionally gone unheard, unnoticed or unrecognized.
Recognizing the creative endeavors of traditional and nontraditional students enrolled at the Miami University Regionals (MUR) campuses.
Offering a safe haven for students of MUR regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, gender, etc. so that they may create and share writing, artwork, and other creative arts openly.
Exposing the campus’ population and surrounding communities to diverse, peer-written or created materials leading to a greater appreciation for the fine arts and local culture.
Offering students the opportunity to learn the technical and aesthetic elements of producing, designing and distributing a print and web-based literary publication.
Providing volunteer opportunities for students and community members to partake in artistic endeavors such as open readings, galleries, workshops, and charity work that benefits the artistic communities that are within and surround MUR. Any charities and events supported are at the discretion of the editor(s) and faculty advisor(s).
Working closely with the faculty, staff, and students of Miami University Regionals to provide a publication for academic and community use and enjoyment.
