Amicus Curiae Pre-Law Society was formed over a decade ago by Miami students who had a passion for pursuing a career in law. This organization aims to bring together pre-law students on Miami's campus and prepare them for what is ahead. Biweekly meetings consist of speakers, ranging from Administrative Law Judges to practicing attorneys in a variety of fields to law school professors to our very own Career Services staff members. Members also learn about relevant classes at Miami, the importance of networking, how to prepare a cover letter and resume that stand out, beneficial LSAT study strategies, how to choose a law school, and infinitely more. It is our hope that these meetings, our connections with one another, and our annual law school trips will give members the resources they need to move forward on the exciting journey towards a career in law.

The Miami University JANUS Forum offers a place for members of the campus community to come together and discuss opposing views freely and passionately. We provide a forum where students can explore the multitude of views that exist, and then arrive at their own opinion, knowing not only what they believe, but also why they believe it. The organization operates by hosting outside speakers to discuss current topics of relevance to the student body.

Our chapter regularly hosts guest speakers, conducts philanthropy events, professional development seminars, mock trials, and brotherhood events. We also partner with LSAT demon to provide discounted LSAT prep and College admissions resources to our members. Kapi is also a brotherhood where we support and encourage one another on our professional journeys.

The MIAMI ASSOCIATION FOR PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (MAPA) is committed to the advancement of the study of public administration at Miami University and to providing a forum for the discussion of issues relevant to the administration of the public sector. MIAMI UNIVERSITY MODEL UNITED NATIONS (or MUMUN) is a student-run organization at Miami University which represents Miami at conferences throughout the year in national competitions. Founded in 2002, the club allows members to participate in mock United Nations (UN) and other international policymaking committees as different countries. MUMUN gives students valuable skills in public speaking, public policy, and practice working in a diplomatic setting.

The three- to four-day conferences allow members to meet students from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and require students to learn about their respective country's positions on different issues. The club holds weekly meetings, where students participate in practice simulations in order to train for conferences and discuss current events. The team runs a high school conference in the spring (MUMUNC) which allows participants to augment their understandings of international affairs while fostering public speaking and leadership skills.

You do not need previous experience in Model UN to be successful! The club welcomes members with all ranges of experience and academic backgrounds, and prospective members are welcome to join at any point in the semester!

By building a vibrant and supportive community for women in law at Miami University, we bolster women in the pursuit of their professional and personal goals. We aim to empower women with academic resources, professional development, and a strong sense of community on the path to their future. We are affiliated with the Sue J. Henry Center for Pre-Law Education and work to raise funds for our philanthropy, The Ohio Innocence Project.
