Active Minds is a national organization that is determined to reduce the stigma and change the conversation about mental health and illness on college campuses. Active Minds at Miami holds and participates in many events to increase awareness about mental illness. These events include the Out of Darkness Walk, Stress Less Week, Be Well Fair, Pastries and Paint Night, and many more. We hold many partnerships with other groups and organizations such as Miami Hope. We meet every Thursday, 6:30-7:30, in Harrison Hall Room 116.

The American Conservation Coalition is changing the narrative on environmental discussions by promoting a mix of market-based, pro-business, and limited-government environmentalism in legislatures, college campuses, the political arena, and beyond. The Miami Branch of the American Conservation Coalition will specifically do these things on campus to prepare students with the ability and knowledge to act on environmental issues within their values, whether that be on the political spectrum, through legislation, service, or in any way connected to their personal goals. Guided by the fundamental principles of the American Red Cross and its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers, the American Red Cross club will learn, practice, and exemplify humanitarian values through mission-related service projects. The purpose of the organization is to provide an uplifting environment for like-minded students to come together and give back to the community through three mission-related service projects per year. With the nature of the American Red Cross, the service projects will focus on blood, fundraising, education and preparedness, International Humanitarian Law, and social engagement. While students must be enrolled in an approved engineering degree program to join the national ASME organization, this is not a requirement for joining the Miami University student section. Amicus Curiae Pre-Law Society was formed over a decade ago by Miami students who had a passion for pursuing a career in law. This organization aims to bring together pre-law students on Miami's campus and prepare them for what is ahead. Biweekly meetings consist of speakers, ranging from Administrative Law Judges to practicing attorneys in a variety of fields to law school professors to our very own Career Services staff members. Members also learn about relevant classes at Miami, the importance of networking, how to prepare a cover letter and resume that stand out, beneficial LSAT study strategies, how to choose a law school, and infinitely more. It is our hope that these meetings, our connections with one another, and our annual law school trips will give members the resources they need to move forward on the exciting journey towards a career in law.

through education and exploration. Through this organization, members will further
develop their interest in anatomy through educational activities relating to such topics,
exploration of career paths utilizing knowledge of such sciences, and socializing with

volunteering and fundraising events. Philanthropic projects will entail fundraising and
volunteering with the goal of supporting charitable and worthwhile causes representing
physical ailments and disorders. It is the ultimate goal of this organization that members
will continuously increase knowledge and interest in Anatomy & Physiology and science
in general. It is the executive board's mission to encourage curiosity in the sciences and
provide opportunities for members to further explore their passions in the sciences.
Member recruitment and retention will be slightly selective, but will not be exclusive to
science majors, but rather anyone who is interested in these topics. Senior members
will assist and support younger members in any way possible, such as scheduling,
testing, material mastery, as well as general sense of fellowship and camaraderie.
Candidate selection for executive board positions will be at the discretion of the present
executive board and take place every fall in order for a spring transition.

The Armstrong Student Center Board, which was formed prior to construction of the building in 2013. The advisory board consists of 15-20 student members. Some members are appointed representatives from Associated Student Government, Miami Activities and Programming, Student Engagement, Greek Life and Armstrong Student Employees. They serve alongside at-large elected members of the advisory board, for a combination of one and two year terms. At-large members tend to be involved with various student organizations around campus since these groups are a core part of Armstrong’s student-centered mission.

The Miami University club tennis team consistently has over 90 members every year. We welcome all levels of play for those interested in joining. The club season begins in September and ends in April. Outdoor practices are held at the varsity courts behind Yager Stadium on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Winter practices are held indoors at the Riverside Athletic Club in Hamilton. Any players interested in traveling to tournaments will be able to try out for our travel team at the beginning of the year. We typically select about 30 players to be apart of our travel team pool.

The Delta Beta Chapter at Miami University was founded in 1911. The Emergency Medical Services Alliance (EMSA) at Miami University, recognized as the 2024–25 New Student Organization of the Year, is committed to promoting EMS education and public health on campus. HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience. HOSA actively promotes career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA’s mission is especially critical when considering the acute shortage of qualified workers for the health care industry. This shortage has been amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Spring of 2020 countless doctors and nurses returned to the frontline out of retirement and medical school allowed students to graduate early to fight the pandemic. HOSA is a viable solution to health industry shortages.

The Honors Student Advisory and Activities Board (HSAB) is a student organization that serves as the link between the students and staff of the Honors College. As a programming body, HSAB provides various ways for students to get involved in the Honors community and explore scholarship, leadership, and service outside of the classroom.
