The Armstrong Student Center Board, which was formed prior to construction of the building in 2013. The advisory board consists of 15-20 student members. Some members are appointed representatives from Associated Student Government, Miami Activities and Programming, Student Engagement, Greek Life and Armstrong Student Employees. They serve alongside at-large elected members of the advisory board, for a combination of one and two year terms. At-large members tend to be involved with various student organizations around campus since these groups are a core part of Armstrong’s student-centered mission.

The Honors Student Advisory and Activities Board (HSAB) is a student organization that serves as the link between the students and staff of the Honors College. As a programming body, HSAB provides various ways for students to get involved in the Honors community and explore scholarship, leadership, and service outside of the classroom. HSAB also plans and executes several events for students on campus both within HSAB and the Honors College in general. HSAB serves to foster friendship, promote personal growth, and establish unity among organization members and the entire Honors community. Further, HSAB assists Honors College faculty and staff with prospective student recruitment and alumni relations.

Past projects: representation on the Honors College Advisory Committee; Honors Student/Faculty Dinner; planning Oxford-wide Make a Difference Day and Spring into Service; Partnership with the Honors LLC for a carnival; organizing a benefit Patriot Dash 5K race for the Wounded Warrior Project; HSAB group bonding events at hockey games and Butterfield Farms; team building with the Outdoor Pursuit Center; planning and executing Honors Formal and Honors Week; coordinating and hosting Honors Hangouts with academic and social programming such as guest speakers, debates, and creative activities.

The Miami University Jazz Ensemble is the premiere big band at Miami and performs in a wide variety of styles from swing to funk with a focus on the enduring music made famous by the orchestras of Stan Kenton, Woody Herman and Count Basie, and composers such as Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, and Charles Mingus. The internationally known jazz artists who have been featured with the ensemble include Benny Golson, Donald Byrd, Robin Eubanks, Joel Frahm, Bill Watrous, John Fedchock, Dave Pietro, Wayne Bergeron, Jim Snidero, Lee Konitz, and Matthew Harris. The Jazz Ensemble has been invited to appear at jazz festivals, educational conferences, and schools, including the Saturday evening slot at the 44th Annual Elmhurst Jazz Festival, the Ohio Music Educators Conference, and other area jazz festivals.

Mission
The goal of the Miami University Steel Band is to present excellent performances of quality literature in the steel band idiom, with a special emphasis on original music by contemporary composers.

Membership Benefits
The Miami University Steel Band was founded in 1994 with a complement of ten players and six instruments. Under the leadership of founder and director Chris Tanner, the program has grown to encompass two separate ensembles with a combined enrollment of over fifty members, and twenty-five university-owned instruments. The ensemble is very active, performing in a number of settings including on campus concerts, summer park venues and in-school outreach programs. The Miami University Steel Band is one of the few university bands to have released professional-quality recordings. The group produced four recordings between 2001 and 2009, which are available through Pan Ramajay Productions (www.ramajay.com), and also through the iTunes Music Store and other streaming services. The band released their fifth recording, 20, in celebration of their twentieth anniversary in April 2014.

Aside from recordings, appearances at prestigious events have provided national and international recognition. The ensemble has twice headlined the Virginia International Panfest (2008, 2003), and has appeared at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention three times (2011, 2005 and 2002). As the art form of pan grows in the 21st century, the Miami University Steel Band aspires to be one of the leading programs in exemplifying excellence in performance, and in expanding the repertory for this unique ensemble.

The Miami University Symphony Orchestra (MUSO), with a history dating back to 1890, is dedicated to the quality performance of the orchestral repertoire and to the professional and artistic growth of its members. The Miami University Panhellenic Association is the coordinating body for activities that promote the common interests of all sororities on Miami's campus.

It embraces each of the Five Pillars it stands for; scholarship and learning, service and philanthropy, leadership and values, community, and sisterhood. Each school year, sorority women participate in programming events that aid in the development of each of these values. The programs for members range from health and safety initiatives, to educational programs and community service activities.

Panhellenic also works with the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the Interfraternity Council IFC, and the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to host signature programs each year. These include: Greek Week (a week long celebration of the FSL community), Acropolis (an off-campus emerging leaders retreat), and Greek Spring Service (a large day of service)!

The Panhellenic Association also sponsors and coordinates Miami's Sorority Recruitment process, and is the unifying, governing, and coordinating body of the sorority community.
