Collegiate 4-H is a continuation of the 4-H program, but at a college level. If you were never a member of 4-H, you are still welcome to be a member of Collegiate 4-H. The Emergency Medical Services Alliance (EMSA) at Miami University, recognized as the 2024–25 New Student Organization of the Year, is committed to promoting EMS education and public health on campus. Our mission extends beyond awareness to action: we offer CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed classes, lead the initiative to launch a student EMT first response unit, and distribute fentanyl test strips and Narcan kits. HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience. HOSA actively promotes career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA’s mission is especially critical when considering the acute shortage of qualified workers for the health care industry. This shortage has been amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Spring of 2020 countless doctors and nurses returned to the frontline out of retirement and medical school allowed students to graduate early to fight the pandemic. HOSA is a viable solution to health industry shortages.

The Honors Student Advisory and Activities Board (HSAB) is a student organization that serves as the link between the students and staff of the Honors College. As a programming body, HSAB provides various ways for students to get involved in the Honors community and explore scholarship, leadership, and service outside of the classroom. HSAB also plans and executes several events for students on campus both within HSAB and the Honors College in general. HSAB serves to foster friendship, promote personal growth, and establish unity among organization members and the entire Honors community. Further, HSAB assists Honors College faculty and staff with prospective student recruitment and alumni relations.

Past projects: representation on the Honors College Advisory Committee; Honors Student/Faculty Dinner; planning Oxford-wide Make a Difference Day and Spring into Service; Partnership with the Honors LLC for a carnival; organizing a benefit Patriot Dash 5K race for the Wounded Warrior Project; HSAB group bonding events at hockey games and Butterfield Farms; team building with the Outdoor Pursuit Center; planning and executing Honors Formal and Honors Week; coordinating and hosting Honors Hangouts with academic and social programming such as guest speakers, debates, and creative activities.

The Japanese Culture and Language Club (JCLC) of Miami University is a student organization that promotes knowledge and understanding of the Japanese culture on campus as well as in the surrounding communities. We meet every other Wednesday at 6:00pm in Irvin 124. JCLC organizes various Japanese-related events throughout the year, along with collaborating with other Asian and cultural clubs at Miami University. Just Duet is Miami’s only all-gender a cappella group. Since our founding in 2013, JD has become the first at Miami to compete in the Semifinal round ICCAs, performed at Carnegie Hall, and continuously records, produces, and performs throughout the year.

Made to Move is a beginner-friendly, low-commitment dance organization. Every class, students learn a new piece of choreography made by another student. Members learn the choreography, dance in smaller groups for space, and then members can optionally join groups to record the dance for our Instagram page. There are no fees, no attendance requirement, no experience needed because our core belief is that everyone is Made to Move.

The Martial Arts Club follows a belt curriculum primarily in traditional Tae Kwon Do, with Judo and Hapkido influences. We train and spar in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Wing Chun, and Kali on Fridays as well as teaching occasional self defense seminars. We perform at the Asian Cultural Festival and Fusion events on campus and compete in nearby tournaments. We have been a Miami Club Sport for more than 40 years, which grants us solid experience and community. All students welcome--no previous experience needed!

The Boogiemen are the Miami University Club Men's Ultimate Frisbee Team. We are open to all skill sets and abilities from complete beginners to seasoned veterans. We travel all over the Midwest and even a bit into the Southeast for tournaments, and compete in USAU sanctioned events in the Spring.

We're open to players of all experience levels! We've had people with 8 years of experience, and people who have never thrown a frisbee before! We typically travel to 3-4 tournaments and host 1 additional tournament each semester. We've traveled to tournaments in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Lexington, Knoxville, Nashville, and Myrtle Beach. The Miami University Club Clay Shooting Team is a club sport organization dedicated to the sport of clay target shooting. While our primary discipline is trap shooting, we occasionally participate in other disciplines such as sporting clays. Under the direction of Dr. Ryan Yahl, The Miami University Marching Band (MUMB) is one of the largest and most spirited organizations on campus. Formally organized in 1935, it is the second-oldest musical organization on campus. The MUMB performs for all home football games as well as select away games. Additionally, the MUMB typically performs in exhibition at a major high school contest each season, such as BOA Grand Nationals (2017, 2021), and has been featured in national events, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (2003, 2011) and the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Parade. Miami University Model Arab League is an organization that participates and competes in regional and national conferences in immersive diplomatic simulations. We aim to give our members research experience and policy insights in to the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as experience public speaking, debating and developing diplomatic negotiating skills. The various competition councils give members the ability to specialize in one area such as economic, social or defense policy or expand their knowledge in a variety of conferences. MIAMI UNIVERSITY MODEL UNITED NATIONS (or MUMUN) is a student-run organization at Miami University which represents Miami at conferences throughout the year in national competitions. Founded in 2002, the club allows members to participate in mock United Nations (UN) and other international policymaking committees as different countries. MUMUN gives students valuable skills in public speaking, public policy, and practice working in a diplomatic setting.

The three- to four-day conferences allow members to meet students from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and require students to learn about their respective country's positions on different issues. The club holds weekly meetings, where students participate in practice simulations in order to train for conferences and discuss current events. The team runs a high school conference in the spring (MUMUNC) which allows participants to augment their understandings of international affairs while fostering public speaking and leadership skills.

You do not need previous experience in Model UN to be successful! The club welcomes members with all ranges of experience and academic backgrounds, and prospective members are welcome to join at any point in the semester!

Miami Powerlifting is a USA Powerlifting registered club team that practices at Chestnut Field House Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from 7:00 - 9:30PM and Saturday from 12:00 - 3:00PM. The USAPL is a competitive, drug-tested federation with a long history in the sport. We provide programming to all of our lifters accompanied with instructional videos to meet your needs. 

At Chestnut, we own competition standard equipment that is the best on campus. Pieces like our calibrated kilo plates, Ohio Power Bars, Ohio Deadlift Bar, deadlift jacks, competition collars, bench boards, and everything a lifter could need to compete to standards. We offer the option to practice Raw or Equipped Powerlifting and promote the concept that your experience at Miami Powerlifting is what you decide you want it to be, practice with us as often as you'd like, and compete at your own pace. Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an intergenerational art program for people with dementia. Founded in 2007 at Scripps Gerontology Center, Miami University, OMA is grounded in “person-centered” ethics, and has a specific methodology that ensures failure-free creative experiences. The mission of the program is to build bridges across age and cognitive barriers.

Students encourage the artists to make their own aesthetic decisions, and support their abilities so that they can be active agents in their own creative process. Volunteers work with the same partners and learn to value the elders for who they are now, even with their cognitive impairments.

The OMA program has now been implemented in seven different locations in the greater Cincinnati area and on-going research projects are being done to assess the impact of the program on the well-being of people with dementia in the program and also on changes in attitudes toward aging and dementia among the volunteers and the public attending the art shows.

The Miami University Panhellenic Association is the coordinating body for activities that promote the common interests of all sororities on Miami's campus.

It embraces each of the Five Pillars it stands for; scholarship and learning, service and philanthropy, leadership and values, community, and sisterhood. Each school year, sorority women participate in programming events that aid in the development of each of these values. The programs for members range from health and safety initiatives, to educational programs and community service activities.

Panhellenic also works with the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the Interfraternity Council IFC, and the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to host signature programs each year. The purpose of The Miami University Role Playing Guild is to provide a gathering point for people interested in various forms of role playing games in the university community. We run sessions of Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) and host a wide library of other RPGs spanning from big-name titles such as Call of Cthulhu, Vampire: the Masquerade, and Pathfinder to small indie titles. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 12, 1922. This organization is home to more than 100,000 women and is the only D9 sorority founded at a predominantly white institution. In addition, this organization also has active affiliate groups devoted to empowering women at different stages in life. The Rhoer Club Affiliates (teenage girls) and Philos Affiliates (friends of the sorority). 

The establishment of the Undeniable Upsilon Pi chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated at Miami University marks a significant milestone in the university's history. The Undeniable Upsilon Pi chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on Miami University’s campus on March 23, 2024. As a new chapter on campus Upsilon Pi will strive to uphold the principles of scholarship, leadership, community service, and sisterhood. Upsilon Pi members have consistently shown that they are committed to these ideals by acting on them both on and off campus. Founded at the University of Minnesota in 1904, Theta Tau is the largest and oldest professional engineering fraternity. Who Are We?
Threshold Choir Miami University (TCMU) grew out of Opening Minds through Art. OMA's mission is to build relationships across age and cognitive barriers through art. When elders are no longer able to create art, TCMU continues to maintain these relationships through song. Clients do not need to be OMA participants to receive songs. There is no charge for our service. We are an inter generational choir, combining Miami students with residents of the Knolls of Oxford.

What We Do
Bedside Singing
At bedside, TCMU singers use simple repetitive songs to soothe and comfort people on the threshold of life. The goal is not to perform, but to be present with the individual and to make kindness audible. We sing at private homes, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and hospices.

The Miami University TrebleMakers are an entirely student-run a cappella group currently composed of 14 talented Miami women. Founded in 2010, the TrebleMakers quickly became one of the finest groups on campus. As a group, we have had the incredible opportunities to perform at the International Competition of Collegiate ACappella as well as record and release EPs.
